Communities In Schools Of Palm Beach County
| About us | Communities In Schools of Palm Beach County, Inc. CIS began in 1984. It was brought to our community by Murray Goodman, President of the Goodman Corporation, who was a Community In Schools National board member. He had moved his corporate offices to this area and wanted to bring a "gift". After a needs assessment and some discussions with both the business leaders and the school district, CIS began as a school based program at the high school level under the umbrella of Dropout Prevention. Communities In School is funded by local individuals that have a heart for education of our youth. Other funding sources include: The Board of County Commission of Palm Beach County, Bank of America, Wachovia, Weight Watchers of Palm Beach County, Inc., and JJ Taylor Companies, Inc. We are committed to keeping students in school and enabling students to successfully learn and prepare for life. |
