FoundCare Opens First Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing Site in Palm Beach County

FoundCare opened Palm Beach County’s very first drive-through COVID-19 testing site on March 16, 2020. At the time, Coronavirus was just making an appearance and although testing was encouraged to help mitigate the spread, no testing sites were available in Palm Beach County. Although testing supplies were limited, FoundCare sprang into action and opened up Palm Beach County’s first drive-through testing site outside of our Palm Springs health center.

When additional testing sites opened up throughout the community, FoundCare decided to go mobile, bringing COVID-19 testing to underserved communities. With first-hand knowledge of health disparities, we knew we had to bring COVID-19 testing to those who needed it most. Our largest testing day took place at The Guatemalan Maya Center in Lake Worth, where we tested 362 people. Mobile testing was made possible through a partnership with the Quantum Foundation.

To date, FoundCare has tested over 7,000 members in our community. Although we are no longer accepting appointments for drive-through testing (due to the mass availability in our community), we continue to offer COVID-19 testing to our patients.
