FoundCare Opens First Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing Site in Palm Beach County.
It’s hard to believe that it has been five months since FoundCare opened up Palm Beach County’s very first drive-through COVID-19 testing site. At the time, Coronavirus was just making an appearance and although testing was encouraged to help mitigate the spread, no testing sites were available in Palm Beach County. Although testing supplies were limited, FoundCare sprang into action and opened up Palm Beach County’s first drive-through testing site outside of our Palm Springs health center.
When additional testing sites opened up throughout the community, FoundCare decided to go mobile, bringing COVID-19 testing to underserved communities. With first-hand knowledge of health disparities, we knew we had to bring COVID-19 testing to those who needed it most. Our largest testing day took place at The Guatemalan Maya Center, where we tested 362 people. Mobile testing was made possible through a partnership with the Quantum Foundation.
To date, FoundCare has provided 5,249 COVID-19 tests. FoundCare recently partnered with Palm Beach County to expand testing hours and dates at FoundCare located at 2330 S. Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach. COVID-19 testing is available for free to all members of our community. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call our COVID-19 hotline at 561-967-0365 or visit our website to schedule online at www.foundcare.org.
